The reason to Choose me as your Funeral CelebrantFinding the energy and capacity to create a fitting and meaningful farewell for a loved one during grief is complicated. Let me help you. I have worked with families since 1996 and, more recently, as a civil celebrant (this is the new normal).
My priority as your Celebrant is to work alongside you to ensure that your loved one has a warm, meaningful and personal leave-taking will be a privilege if that’s what you want. I will provide you with unbiased and impartial advice.
If you choose me as your Funeral Celebrant, together we will spend as much time as you, your friends and your family members as needed to discuss your loved one’s life. It is an important time for sharing memories, precious stories, anecdotes and achievements. This enables me to understand who they were and what they meant to those they left behind. I will then write a eulogy that reflects their life and personality – it will be a truly collaborative endeavour.
If you or others feel able, and would like to, take an active role in the ceremony, I can suggest poems and readings. I can help you to write and deliver your tribute or farewell or read those on your behalf. You may have chosen pieces of music or songs for your loved one to arrive and leave by and to play during a period of reflection, but if not, I can make suggestions and help find those that feel most appropriate for you.
Whatever your wishes, I will create a fitting funeral that celebrates the life of the person you love and acknowledges your loss. This At the Islands Crematorium or Woodland burial grounds, also known as a green burial or natural burial, is an eco-friendly funeral option growing in popularity.
